2000 Guineas runners: England fans can get behind Wembley as Aidan O'Brien hotshot among favourites
THE first Classic of the season is run at Newmarket this Saturday.
And after a potential field of 18 were left in at Monday's entry stage for the QIPCO 2000 Guineas, the betting market was given a good shakeup.
Irish maestro Aidan O'Brien needs no introduction and he dominates the entries with a total of five.
O'Brien has won four of the last six renewals of the Group 1 and his Wembley has been popular with punters so far in the build-up.
He's been backed into 9-2 joint favourite with the Joseph O'Brien-trained Thunder Moon.
Coral's David Stevens said: "Although Wembley hit the bar twice at the top level last season, that hasn't stopped punters thinking he can score at Group One level in this weekend's Qipco 2,000 Guineas.

Yesterday Godolphin's Charlie Appleby revealed his number one rider Will Buick would ride Master Of The Seas and not the more fancied in the betting One Ruler.
That meant One Ruler was eased out to 11-2 from 9-2 with Master Of The Seas now as short as 13-2.
Charlie Hills and the Shadwell team have paid £30,000 to supplement the two from two Mutasaabeq off the back of his win at Newmarket. He's a 7-1 chance.
