Moment cheeky Charles rolls his eyes as well-wishers sing 'happy birthday' - then offers them doggie

KING Charles offered his birthday guests doggie bags filled with delicious cake as the monarch celebrated his 75th birthday - as well as a cheeky eye roll.

King Charles joined a host of people at his home in Gloucestershire, including community stalwarts nominated by friends and family, as well as representatives from organisations marking the same 75th milestone.

Other guests included NHS workers and members of the Windrush generation.

After being handed a large knife, the monarch could be seen cutting the birthday cake as the Rock Choir and around 60 guests sang to congratulate him.

At some point, the King, who perhaps felt a little too shy to be the centre of attention, even rolled his eyes at the well-wishers and gave them a cheeky smile.

The King joked with the crowd as her peered inside the white Victoria sponge cake that was decorated with golden elements.

“It’s always fun to have a look,” he chukled, before urging fellow guests and fans of the Royal Family to eat the sweet treat.

“Who can I donate it to? Can we get rid of it? We need to give you doggie bags,” the King went on to joke.

The monarch is said to be celebrating his birthday with a gathering of close family and friends at Clarence House today, and Sarah Ferguson took to Instagram to wish Charles a Happy Birthday this morning.

Along with a black and white picture of Charles, she wrote: "Wishing the happiest of birthdays to His Majesty, King Charles III. Long live the King."

The news comes as sources close to the family have claimed Prince Harry will today call his dad from the US - however, royal experts have insisted there's a reason behind this move.

Royal Biographer Angela Levin said she believed Harry will use the call as a chance to get an apology from his father.

She told The Sun: “I don’t see Harry stepping down a few pegs and I don’t believe he will only use the call to wish him happy birthday.

“It's much more likely that he will take the opportunity to try and get an apology out of his father.

“I don't see that Harry genuinely wants to change things in the relationship."

It comes after a source told the Messenger: "In response to UK media headlines, there has been no contact regarding an invitation to His Majesty’s upcoming birthday.”

However, the expert believes Harry knows “the ‘door is always open” and that he released the statement to “stir the narrative further”.

She went on to explain: “The main question is why is he making a big hullabaloo by making his spokesperson say he was never invited and telling people that he will call Charles.

“He is trying to make himself out to be the bigger person.

“It is all just a big publicity stunt. If he really meant it he would do it quietly. That would be sincere.

“Although Meghan's new PR people don't look after Harry, they have been telling Meghan she has got to come across kinder.

Although Prince Harry is expected to make a birthday call to his father later today, he is not thought to have any plans to visit the UK any time soon.
