RUSSELL Howard is a well known face on the comedy circuit thanks to his career as a stand-up comedian.
We take a look at his life and career so far as he takes part in Celebrity Bake Off on Channel 4...
Russell Howard, 38, is a comedian from Bristol.
He has two younger siblings, twins Kerry and Daniel. The latter has epilepsy, which is sometimes mentioned by Russell during his acts.
Russell studied economics at the University of West of England in Bristol before being picked up by BBC Radio One to write, sing, and perform on comedy series The Milk Run.
The comedian began on the circuit in his teens, before reaching a wider audience on the back of his regular slot on BBC's hit Mock The Week.
Russell appeared alongside the likes of Hugh Dennis and Frankie Boyle from 2006-2010, and has been a regular on hit panel shows like Never Mind the Buzzcocks and 8 Out of 10 Cats throughout his career.
He was picked as the best comedy talent from the 2005 Edinburgh Festival Fringe and has cited comedians Lee Evans, Richard Pryor and Frank Skinner as influences.
In 2018 he took part in Dave channel's comedy show Taskmaster.
According to Wealthy Gorilla he was a net worth of £3million ($4million).
Russell's current affairs review show, Russell Howard's Good News, launched on BBC Three in 2009 and went on to run for 10 series after moving to BBC Two in 2014.
The topical news programme was voted as the best show to ever appear on the now digital-only BBC Three ahead of its 10th anniversary in 2013.
In 2018 he launched The Russell Howard Hour on Sky One.
As you may have gathered from the title, the show lasts for an hour, and there has been three series so far.
The biggest stories in the UK and across the globe are given Russell's trademark left-field, optimistic perspective.
He also conducts in-depth, one-on-one studio interviews each week, as well as calling on some (very) junior correspondents to shed some light on the topsy-turvy world of news.
